Brand identity

Brand Identity Design That Looks Like You Everywhere

Logo, colour, typography, imagery and graphic elements designed as one visual identity, so your brand is recognisable on a website, a vehicle, a social post or a sales deck.

Brand identity design turns your brand strategy into something people can see. Digital Fold designs visual and corporate identities for businesses in Cape Town, across South Africa and internationally. Every element is designed to work with the others, and we test the whole system on real material before you sign it off.

The problem

A logo is not a brand identity

Many businesses have a logo and little else. Every new brochure, post or presentation starts from scratch, so colours, fonts and layouts change each time. Over a year that adds up to a brand that looks different everywhere. A complete brand identity gives every designer, supplier and staff member the same pieces to work with.

A corporate identity that works in the real world

A corporate identity has to work on more than a mood board. We test colours on screen and in print, check type at the sizes it will really be used, and apply the identity to the material you use most: your website, social posts, proposals and signage. Because our web team works from the same files, your new visual identity carries straight into your website.

FAQs

Brand identity FAQs

What is brand identity design?
It's the design of everything that makes your brand recognisable: logo, colours, typography, imagery and graphic elements, and the way they come together.
What's the difference between brand identity and visual identity?
The terms are often used interchangeably. Visual identity usually means the visual elements only. Brand identity can also include your tone of voice and messaging, which come from your brand strategy.
What is a corporate identity?
Another name for a brand identity, usually used by larger businesses. It covers the logo, colours and typography, and how they appear on everything from stationery and signage to your website.
Can you build an identity around our existing logo?
Yes. If your logo works, we can design the rest of the identity around it, or refresh it lightly so everything fits together.
Will our team be able to use the identity?
Yes. You get brand guidelines and the files that go with them, and we can set up editable templates for the material your team updates most.
Do you work with businesses outside Cape Town?
Yes. We're based in Cape Town and work with businesses across South Africa and internationally.
