Website maintenance

Website Maintenance and Support, Handled Properly

Updates, backups, fixes and small changes for WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify and Webflow websites, handled by developers who build websites every day. So your site keeps working while you run your business.

Digital Fold offers website maintenance for businesses that rely on their website. We keep WordPress core, themes and plugins up to date, make sure backups are running, fix what breaks, make small changes and coordinate with your hosting provider when server-level updates are needed. We maintain sites we've built, and take over sites built by others after an audit.

The problem

Why websites break when nobody looks after them

A website isn't finished when it launches. Plugins release updates, PHP and server software change, payment and booking integrations update their requirements, and older code stops working. When nobody is responsible, updates get skipped until something breaks, often a contact form or checkout that fails without anyone noticing. Regular website maintenance catches these problems before your customers do.

Taking over a site someone else built

Before we take on a website we didn't build, we audit the theme, plugins, hosting and backups, then tell you what needs fixing first. That gives you a clear picture of the risks, and gives us a stable starting point to maintain from. If something urgent turns up, like an outdated PHP version or a plugin with a known vulnerability, we deal with it first.

What does website maintenance include?
Updates to your platform, themes and plugins, backups, fixes when something breaks, small content changes and coordination with your hosting provider. The exact scope is set out in your plan.
Do you maintain websites you didn't build?
Yes. We start with an audit of the site, plugins, hosting and backups, then tell you what needs fixing before we take it on.
Which platforms do you maintain?
WordPress and WooCommerce sites, which need the most regular updates, as well as Shopify and Webflow sites, where maintenance is more about changes, apps and integrations.
Does updating WordPress keep our site secure?
It helps, but it isn't the whole picture. Some vulnerabilities sit at server level, in the PHP version your hosting runs, so that needs attention too. We coordinate those updates with your hosting provider.
Can you make changes to our site as part of maintenance?
Yes. Small changes like new pages and content updates can be part of your plan. We'll tell you upfront if something is big enough to need its own quote.
Do you work with businesses outside Cape Town?
Yes. We're based in Cape Town and maintain websites for businesses across South Africa and internationally.
